The W Hotels brand has been in the Luxury tier since Marriott combined the brands and launched Marriott Bonvoy after acquiring Starwood.
An earlier version of the chart made a further distinction between Classic and Distinctive, as well as making Longer Stays a subcategory in two tiers rather than being its own tier. The W Hotels brand was under Luxury: Distinctive.
