As I mentioned upthread about the absurdly slow CT scanners, the regular PreCheck line at IAD is now consistently faster than the Clear line. For the first time ever, the Clear line now snakes around behind the main hall to the left of where the Clear machines are. I couldn't even be bothered to look how bad that part of the line was. I already learned that if there's a Clear line outside of the roped area then standard PreCheck is faster. And that held true for an early afternoon Friday flight.
Often at DCA the Clear line isn't faster but at least on par with the standard PreCheck line. LGA doesn't even have it in the new Terminal B but PreCheck is always fast there (at least getting up to the absurd machines). IAH is usually only faster because the snake you have to walk to get to regular PreCheck negates the extra time of having to scan your BP now at all Clear machines.
