Even with several (NLL) biz golds I’m a little confused with the “… 4X Membership RewardsŪ points on the 2 categories where your business spends the most in each billing cycle from 6 categories: …” I’ve previously only used the cards for gas and restaurants, thus always earning 4x, so I've not been able to clear the confusion by experience.

This billing cycle, I made a deposit payment to a golf club for a catered event, thinking it might possibly code as “restaurant” and if so, I should earn 4x on the deposit and future larger payments. For the current billing cycle, that deposit charge will far exceed the total charges for gas and the total charges for restaurants with no other (category) charges on the card.

If the deposit posts as a restaurant, I think I should earn 4x on all charges. If the deposit codes differently, will I earn 4x on all gas and restaurant charges or only on whichever of those 2 categories have the highest total charges (for the billing cycle)? Thank you.
