It was wonderful to wake up to all of these kind messages this morning. WOW, not a single person scolding me! There are some bad things going on in the world afterall.

Out of the heat of battle, here are the possibilities:

1. The agent who changed us to the earlier flight waived the change fees. The flight did re-ticket and I received an e-receipt. I confirmed via Twitter and via phoning yesterday that the ticket was showing good to go, ready for checkin. Then at checkin, "invalid ticket number" errors and unable to checkin. Agent said it was because the earlier agent messed up and should not have waived that fee. She said the other flight was still in the record.

2. I was monitoring the flight all afternoon before checkin on EF. At one point EF showed the flight cancelled. I now think that was during the aircraft change. I thnk they downguaged our flight to a 773-ER because of light load. The plane had been on the ground since last night so it is ashame they didn't make the aircraft swap sooner in the system so OWE / gold could make changes to their seats before the mad rush at checkin.This change may have thrown more at BA IT than it can handle.

It was reassuring that the Blue exec club line now picks up right away most of the time, unlike last year at this time when I could never reach an agent and was forced to use Twitter exclusively. And a window seat opened up just before bed last night and we grabbed it, so neither of us is on th aisle and one of us even has direct aisle access, so grateful for that.

Next is the BA lounge at SFO which will be swamped with the JAL flyers... I was one of those in June and July so I know that I'm in for and may just use that time to walk the terminal and apply for a job at BA IT.
