hi, Paddle Hopper. Thanks for taking a time and checking it out! Hmm, I tested it many times on my older Macbook Air in Safari before launching and it was working pretty reliably without any 404s on home wifi. But I do get occasional 404 on my cell on 4G or 5G connections - my theory is that on some lower speed connections heavy 3D models can't load fast enough and cause that issue. Model and 3D viewer optimization is definitely will be our next improvement as honestly in the current form it's slow.
There is definitely a lot of work on this front in terms of showing good quality renders vs speed. For example in the earlier test I've used React Three Fiber
https://seatmap-ai.vercel.app/DL-A350 (might complain about certificate - it's a test box) which was lightning fast but the quality of the render isn't that great.
As for business model, there are 2 ideas so far :
1. B2C - once we get a good catalog of models which is usable, we could go with monthly subscription model ( I had a few conversations with my award business and first class customers and they seem to indicate that paying $10 per month is ok with them). We also plan to integrate an API which would allow user to import their current reservation with the airline, select best seats and pay a small transaction fee for booking good seat.
2. B2B - we talked to a few smaller premium travel agencies and got some interest in a business plan so they don't have to deal with seat selection on their own.
