Are you certain they're worth $1800? It's going to be challenging to find 1800 PQPs for
less than $1800; partner tickets can give good multipliers but you're more likely to get 4K PQP for $2K than 2K PQP for $1K. To get that, you'd need discount long-haul PE on one of a handful of airlines, and discount PE isn't always easy to snare (or cheap).
$1800 is more incremental spending than I would pay for any status except GS, and that includes 1K. Put it in a savings account and it'd buy a lot of TOD upgrades in 2024...
