It never hurts to ask (especially if departing outstations)... I've done three EWR/IAD-Tokyo flights in the last two months. All three were scheduled for either exactly 14:00hrs (EWR-NRT) or 13:55hrs (IAD-HND) and none of them had pajamas provisioned (not that it matters, but all three flights blocked in at over 14hrs - and IAD-HND almost at 15hrs). Seems crazy to me that a 14+ hr East Coast-Asia flight is "too short" for pajamas. Returning HND-IAD this week (12:45 scheduled and just 11:54 flight time) there were pajamas for everyone that wanted them out of HND. Unsure if this is just the Tokyo stations depleting their pajama stocks now that no flights departing Japan are long enough to qualify. YMMV, but never hurts to ask.
