There's been cost-cutting at hotels across the globe since covid. Sounds like they've removed some minor extras here, as opposed to cutting back on any guaranteed program benefits. I'm curious where in Singapore you think you will do better getting free stuff?

I really wouldn't care about a free cocktail, but would certainly be pleased with an upgrade, a "top-notch" breakfast, plus comped welcome amenity. So guess I must fall into the "clueless tourists" category?
Agreed, this hotel has far worse issues with its inconvenient location than the lack of a free cocktail that wasn't that good. Other regional W properties, like BKK, had far better offerings already. Plus, OP got macarons, so I'm jealous :-)
