Perhaps so, but the base Peninsula rooms were selling for less than the PHV room rates when I booked. My suite was around 2,500 EUR during my stay. I found Peninsula to be in a different league altogether and the rooms were approx. the same paid rate. As you point out, no points at Pen which is a difference.
this week, for example, I’m showing Peninsula starting at $2,200 and PHV starting at $1,800, so I think it’s reasonable to compare.

Agree on the strangely huge bathroom/dressing vs actual bedroom (particularly the age if in a standard King Bed room).
Looking back, I used a DSU to upgrade to a “Park Suite King” and they gave me one further notch up to a “Park Deluxe Suite” which had no separate room.
