No - you'll still have to get to the spend hurdle based on the tickets you fly with your name on it. Money spent on companion tickets won't count towards your GS status.
Yes im aware of that, I wasn’t asking to see if it was easier to requalify because I did PassPlus this year (that would be absurd considering PassPlus is already the easy way), I was just was asking in case it was any more difficult for some reason or if there was something else I wasn’t considering.
