Allows unlimited stopovers, unlimited transfers, and is MPM (not routing) based. Therefore you can get to YYZ cheaper by doing something like AKL-YVR-YYZ (stopover), YYZ-YEG assuming you find H all the way, which doesn't seem hard. You'd pay a mileage surcharge (20M with that routing), but it's still cheaper than the cheapest AKL-YVR-YYZ. Or just YYZ stopover and then on to YUL.
I'm considering something similar with LAX instead of YYZ, and some USA domestic on AC/UA codeshares mixed in.
