My home airport is ORD. They have separate signup kiosks in Terminal 1. My CLEAR is covered by AMEX. I have never seen a line of more than 5 people waiting for CLEAR at terminal 1. I don't remember being in a line for CLEAR at any other airports either, I like to have options. I like to have options when traveling. I am getting randomly asked for ID more and more frequently. I am not sure how much I would be willing to pay if my fees were not subsidized by UA and AMEX. If it was $190 every 4 or 5 years, I wouldn't think twice about renewing.
