Bear in mind due to the Y seat you need to call Aer Lingus to arrange seats with an infant. The A321 seat belt is not a lap belt and the A330 belt has an airbag
OK I see now, I came across a review that mentioned a mini cabin with 1 row it but with no photos, it sounded very strange as it didn't match any of the seat maps, but your description makes a lot more sense and matches the seat maps and even QR's A330 seat maps.

We've callled before to select seats and they let us pick any seats, but we always ended up getting relocated to the middle pair of the front row at check-in, as you say, due to restrictions on where lap infants can sit due to seatbelts / oxygen masks.
