The frustrating part is how the policies work together to limit your options, especially in the new world of rare PN. If you're first on the list, but used your exception on the outbound, not only can you not confirm at 72 hours but no other GS can either. If you're second on the list, they can't confirm the top guy without him calling in because they don't know if he wants to use his exception. So, again, no GS gets confirmed on the flight.
