well the changes to the MM thing did make flying DL make more sense when there is no status incentive. The quicker I get to 3MM i suppose the quicker I have "lifetime" diamond status.

at 1.5MM now I am thinking I will just get platinum. put the other 1MM on another airline and hedge. I have 500k on UA and 250k on AA so I suppose I could take one of those to 1MM and get 2MM on DL. I probably have 12 years left of flying so that is about 2MM BIS miles give or take.

I agree once there is no incentive then blindly flying DL makes zero sense.
