Was rebooked in Mint to LAX with a connection (in Y) tomorrow morning. But neither AA nor B6 will provide a hotel voucher, saying it was a voluntary change - allowable with no fare difference due to the mx delay.
Possibly confounding this is that B6 never changed my Cabin code from J or [EDIT] notified me of a cabin change. They kept me in the same seat #, and AA saw it still as in J - there also seems to be no official papertrail of a downgrade.
I tried to argue that B6 should be on the hook for a hotel voucher, as they could not offer the cabin I booked same-day. But to no avail. Might try to claim with Amex, though not sure if this situation is covered.
IMO I don't know what more you want. I wouldn't expect B6 or AA to produce a hotel voucher. B6 offered you a seat to SEA same-day, with a refund of the fare difference given the equipment change. I suppose an additional voucher as a customer service gesture would be nice, but that didn't happen. You voluntarily declined and chose to fly via LAX instead. To each their own but adding an overnight stop in LAX en-route to SEA just to have a flatbed BOS-LAX on a daytime flight is not a tradeoff I'd make unless medically necessary.
