First time in the YVR SS for me today.
The soup had okay flavour, but felt very thin.
The burger was dry. I know it has to be cooked well done, but tweak the patties to keep it a bit more most, add some more sauce, etc. Other than that, it was okay.

The most disappointing bit was the fish - not that we had any, but the overpowering smell. I understand some people enjoy fish a lot more than I do, but that particular dish has a ridiculously strong odour very poorly suited to a fairly small space like this. There are a lot less smelly fish dishes they could serve that wouldn't stink up the place so much. Gross. Going to move down to the MLL to get away from this nastiness.
Oh, and the WiFi is crap up here. Very slow.
Not sure what to say, and trying not to be offensive... But saying I strongly disagree is probably an understatement.
Anyway, not sure how one can judge the level of a restaurant by looking at hamburgers. Reminds me of when we took the family to river Cafe and one of our grandsons picked a hamburger from the kids menu. Big deception because of how small the hamburger was... So River Cafe qualifies for a bad review, right? :-)
I have had fish in the YVR SS last June and it was excellent. Not sure why how you had an issue with smell, but that does not match our experience.
Anyway, I truly don't understand how one can even compare the SS to mid-range franchises like Earls. While we have come to recognize AC food in long haul J is only borderline edible (call us picky if you want), Whenever we visited the YYZ or YVR SS, we have found the food to be excellent. In another league compared with these Earl-type franchises, which we would not consider patronizing.
