Was rebooked in Mint to LAX with a connection (in Y) tomorrow morning. But neither AA nor B6 will provide a hotel voucher, saying it was a voluntary change.

Possibly confounding this is that B6 never changed my Cabin code from J. They kept me in the same seat #, and AA saw it still as in J - there also seems to be no official papertrail of a downgrade.

I tried to argue that B6 should be on the hook for a hotel voucher, as they could not offer the cabin I booked same-day. But to no avail. Might try to claim with Amex, though not sure if this situation is covered.
I can't speak to Amex, but this would probably be covered elsewhere due to the involuntary downgrade attempt.
