Here is my .02 Personally, a lie flat JFK-LHR is too short of flight to enjoy, at max, its <6hr flight, add in the meal and you are down to about 4:30hr or so of enjoyment, on top of adding the connection from where you are starting. If you really want to appreciate a lie flat seat, look for a longer flight time, departing from Midwest or west coast area.
