Billy I totally agree......I stated yesterday in a post as well however that if they are wanting to reward loyalty and not infuriate those with the large MQM balances they have got to allow for Choice Benefits to be used. I think this is a different situation than "Lifetime" status......with upgrades out the window due to FCM the Choice Benefits are about the best reason to shoot for Diamond........Pre-COVID i would have said the Diamond Medallion Line but we all know its Russian Roulette trying to get a competent agent now.
I get a lot of value out of the unpublished SDC co-terminal benefit for DMs (I do a lot of SDCs between the different WAS and NYC airports). To me that's worth a lot. However, other than that, I agree that DM status is of minimal value without the CBs. I think this is a very different situation than when Delta voluntarily extended status for two years due to Covid, however who knows what they'll decide to do.
