I can't remember the last time I took electronics out of my bag at a US airport (and every third international airport reminds me of how many electronics I'm walking around with...sigh... [If they want EVERY electronic device out of my bag why do they say 'large electronics like laptops and iPads']
This includes LGA and IAD (two of my main airports right now). LGA Pre has one normal x-ray scanner all the way to the left but it's closed often. So you're forced to use the new CT scanners which are painfully slow and also absurdly laid out. The "four people can use this at the same time" does not work! I can't stand the overspend of billions of dollars for new scanners when all it does is slow the entire process down and makes things LESS efficient. And there are rumors that the CT scanners are not any better at finding/detecting nefarious items than the x-ray scanners. All for the purpose of telling people to leave things in their bags which was supposed to speed up the process. UGH.
Agree about the electronics. They say the large ones and then pull your bag aside and wonder why your small headset didn't come out and then you get scolded.
