I dropped some friends off at the Ibis last week, and took the opportunity to grab some pics of the (hopefully) soon-to-be opened Crowne Plaza, next door. It's an odd site developed with a Royce apartment complex and the inevitable multi-story car park, and not in the nicest part of town though there are old favourite restaurants like the 1919 close by. Sadly no metro on the doorstep: the new MRT at Ampang Park might be the closest, but it's probably a tie with the KLCC LRT station. The MRT gives a access to the one change budget way of reaching the airport, which has to be a plus.

I think the earlier confusion was that GoogleMaps places the hotel next to the brutalist Australian High Commission, near the W. No doubt that will be corrected in time for Grab to have it on their radar.

The website says rooms will be available from mid-January, but so far nothing is bookable. So only three years or so late


The good news is the Indigo is finally taking reservations from 01Feb24.
