thanks NWIFlyer . What I don't follow about your reasoning is that Article 5 says that I "have the right to compensation by the operating air carrier in accordance with Article 7", but then your reading seems to be that only the first paragraph of Article 7 applies. Why doesn't paragraph 2 apply, the paragraph that says if a passenger has been rerouted in accordance with Article 8, then compensation is cut in half so long as the delay is under 4 hrs for a flight of 3500km+? I think I was offered rerouting in according with Article 8, and so paragraph 2 of Article 7 would apply, wouldn't it?
