I go with my family ~yearly to Iberostar Praia do Forte Selection (Iberostar Bahia, next door, is not as good). We really enjoy it there. It's a 1-hour transfer from Salvador da Bahia (SSA) Airport. Not in Mexico or DR, but I wanted to mention anyway...
