8k SQM in 12 hours round trip might be impossible. Even in paid J, that's almost 2700 miles each way. A 58 minute turn at SFO is about the fastest you can expect to do this, and that's only 6754 SQM in J. And it takes over 11:40.
But if you don't need SQD, I'd look at some California options on UA, connecting somewhere (like YYZ-IAH-DEN). It'll take more than 12 hours, but it can probably be done same day, in J, for close to your budget.
