In 2022, somebody tried to hack my points via Amazon redemption so Amex response was to shut down the card and implement very onerous 2FA for every login - web or phone app. Onerous because it would only send code to one email address, no text authentication. Of course this always occurred when I was traveling internationally (though unrelated) but more of a PITA to handle real time.
After a year or so it appears I don't need 2FA anymore, at least for the Apps. Also 2FA now appears more random for web login.
2FA is a PITA but the alternative (being hacked) is worse. Personally I prefer to implement 2FA for all banking/credit accounts, but only when it is convenient. Specifically either via text message, app prompt (e.g. google, yahoo) or 3rd party app. I especially dislike email 2FA which is unreliable and sometimes glacial.

How quickly is Amex posting SUBs? I ask as it has usually been a few days of meeting spend. I met spend on Sep 18 and have not got it yet. I chatted with a few agents and they all mentioned that I did not meet spending requirement. That all my charges did not qualify. Each agent has a different amount of qualifying charges and none could specify which charges did not qualify. So I called and was told that SUBs take 1-2 statement cycles. Usually when SUBs are earned it at least shows as pending and I don't see that as well.
I'd be worried - I would not wait 2 months in reliance on random CSRs esp. if you are near the deadline. Just make some additional charges to top it off. What is the worst that happens - you get a few extra Amex points instead of...skypesos?
It does not take 2 cycles to get your bonus. At the worst it occurs after the end of a statement period. But usually much sooner IME except with Chase.
