If you can get BA metal from MIA or DFW for the longer flight time, that might be the best option. BA F is much better than AA F in terms of catering (food and beverage), service (though I think JFK is more likely to get the most highly-trained FAs), amenity kit, cabin privacy (seat privacy depends on aircraft).
