Plenty of people check out at 5, 6 and 7 am. But you are probably sleeping I've been not only "asked" but required to wait beyond 1500 more than once, more than twice, and more than thrice. Occasionally, the front desk will apologize and offer a beverage from the bar "while you wait." Most often (and I'd be surprised if this hasn't happened to me at least 10 times over the years), it is just a faux apology. Occasionally, there's an offer for a lesser room type that is "ready."
