This is the point of a JV. Revenue/Expense are split. They're designed so that it doesn't matter which metal the passenger flies. This is why a number of airlines will allow rebooking onto JV partners generally as a matter of default. (Heck if using upgrades a lot of airlines allow upgrade to be kept as long as on a JV partner)
