But IMO the biggest difference between the two is the annual $300 travel credit. With the VX you get a $300 coupon for purchasing travel through the C1 travel portal. With the Reserve you get a statement credit for anything that codes as travel, and Chase has a pretty broad definition of "travel".

I can pretty much get the entire $300 each year in bits and pieces on just trains, buses, taxis, Uber/Lyft, toll roads, and parking, without ever having to book a flight, hotel room, or rental car [even though I usually do at least one of those things].

The 50% UR boost and 3x on other travel and dining is gravy.
