KLM gets revenue (and pays costs) regardless of who flies those routes, so it's canny to let Delta do the bulk of that lifting, allowing KLM to deploy its own metal on other routes where it doesn't have to share the revenue.
You honestly believe that the JV agreement includes no adjustment based on which airline is supplying the frame, paying the crew, buying the fuel? These simple concepts never occurred to any of the lawyers involved?
