SAN now has facial recognition in operation which I got to use when I entered last week. However it seamed like a lot of the passengers were not familiar with the new process - many were standing around, passport in hand looking confused some fiddling at the machines. I found one machine not in use - it recognized me and said "proceed". I joined the line which had one other person - I was shortly called by name by the agent who had a tablet of some sort with people's images. I was asked if i had any food to declare and was then welcomed in.

By far the quickest GE experience to date.
