If they work for major Korean companies (SK, Samsung, Hyundai), they will stick with KE (or other nonstop options) for business travel. Personal travel is only a little bit more of a wildcard, but I can't imagine there will be even 10% as many takers for ICN-TPE-SIN (with an ugly layover on the return) v the nonstop.
That's probably what KE is banking on. For short-hauls, it's definitely a tough sell. For *A, there are a few number of Asian carriers that might make it less painful to stay. I struggle with making domestic connections here in the US on UA.
