With DL, the rule is the same, but there is lots of circumstantial evidence (even happened to me a few years ago during a messy IROP), where they had no problem rebooking the second ticket that was impacted by the IROP of the first ticket.
Just curious what the real world experience is here, not that I would recommend it.
delta is way more helpful than non US airlines in my experience, and while I don't have this exact experience with AF (or I wouldn't have asked) my two cents is in economy the most they would do for you is mock you and deride you while laughingat your misfortune, but they tend to be nicer to paid J. I've never been points J with them though.
