Generally there are no alliance benefits for seat selection in Star Alliance, so Star Alliance Gold does normally not get you any seat benefits. And Lufthansa will just see you as UA*G.

That being said, there have been some flaws in the LH systems that have allowed for free exit row selection for *G. But it has never been consistent. And I don't have a very recent experience.
