Not really. Compare with United. For short-haul flights booked at least a week in advance, Southwest's points cost is lower. For last-minute long-haul travel, United's cost can be much lower.

Jetblue is the closest match to Southwest in points value for different types of domestic trips. I have gotten some transcons on Jetblue for 7k points, and I have done the same on Southwest.
