Personally I don't see the problem with an airline prioritising their own passengers if there more people than space in the lounge. I suspect if you were on CX you would have moaned if you were denied access so that some BA gold on a £50 ET booking to Lyon could go in instead. In fact, imagine if this happened in the US - sorry BA passenger in J/F at BOS/PHL/SFO etc. you can't come in because we are full of oneworld status holders on AA domestic flights. I am sure that would go down well on here

Agree completely. We have been turned away from the F section in the BA lounge in SFO as Emerald on an international flight in favor of people who were actually flying F (we were in J and the space was small). Even on the proper airline, but not the actual cabin, I agreed with this. Being on a different airline altogether (proper status or not) seems even lower a priority than actual airline customers when space is limited.
