I have an upcoming booking at a Hyatt Vacation Club property. I don't need the stay credit (as I already qualified for Globalist and this stay will not put me over the next level for an add'l SNA). Hyatt Vacation Clubs offer nothing to Globalists. It is a 7 day stay and I am using points for 5 of the days and cash for 2. However, I found a lower rate via an OTA for the 2 cash days (saves $100). The best rate guarantee won't apply since the OTA is a pre-paid rate allowing cancellation 7 days prior and the Hyatt property doesn't offer this sort of scenario when booking on Hyatt.com.

My stay will look as follows: 3 free nights (booked on Hyatt), 2 cash nights (booked via the OTA or Hyatt directly), and then a final 2 free nights (booked via Hyatt). My question is - would I be wise to just keep Hyatt since I very much want to stay in the same room the whole stay? Or would it not matter if the OTA booking is in the middle of the stay (in terms of likelihood of staying in the same room)?
