I am Flying Blue Gold & recently status matched Asante Gold.

I bought 2 economy AMS-NBO / NBO-TNR tickets in Feb for our honeymoon in Nov and was planning to use my Flying Blue Miles to purchase a secret upgrade to business class.

Found out last month that they left Flying Blue, so that plan was stopped but I applied and got the Asante status match to Gold using my *A G status.

I plan to ask at check-in if a complimentary upgrade is possible due to it being our honeymoon (even if its just the AMS-NBO leg to get some comfortable sleep).

On my booking, I can keep my Flying Blue number and gain the XP Im building towards for Platinium... or I can put in my Asante number and be pre-selected for a potential upgrade (if KQ do that?) but ultimately waste the built up miles as I dont believe Ill continue to accrue with KQ (vs. Flying Blue) as I live in Belgium, not Kenya.

So what do people think is my best chance for upgrade? What would you do?
