When I went back for a dip in the jacuzzi after the huge crowd finally dissipated, there were two very drunk and very loud couples smoking in the pool right by the hot tub where I wanted to hang out. I’m not getting a super relaxing vibe here which is kind of what I was hoping for but so far I’m enjoying F&B (more B than F though haha), everyone is nice and the hotel and room are obviously lovely. I just feel like there’s a little something missing in terms of their offerings and service to make it a truly great five star place. Will keep an open mind and see how I feel after experiencing the spa and the Rooftop restaurant.
p.s. the crazy thumping music is still going strong outside…!!! I hope it doesn’t go on until 2am or something!!!! AND what’s up with no coffee/tea/hot water in the room??? I’m quite bothered by them telling me that I have to order room service to have a cup of coffee!
+Very Important Question: is their tequila amenity as good as WA’s? Certainly not as pretty but I am not a tequila connoisseur… It doesn’t look that special and I’m wondering if I need to go out of my way to take it home with me as I only brought a carry on!!!! Lol
Hope you have a great time! Agreed on the interesting crowd... During our stay, there was a couple having a screaming match by the pool. Not an easy situation to rectify for the hotel staff, but was expecting someone to try to deescalate the situation. Instead, they fought for about 30 minutes and then went upstairs. At least, everybody by the pool got a free show
Music wasn't an issue for us, although we were on the 2nd floor. I can imagine if you are on the 4th or 5th floor, just below the Rooftop on the 6th floor, it might be louder.
That's odd about the coffee/water. In the Thompson Suite, we had an Nespresso machine and the housekeeper kept us stocked with water bottles daily. I'm surprised the front desk wouldn't offer to bring a coffee maker to your room. As you said, the service isn't exactly the same that you would get at the WA.
As for the tequila, it's fine, but not worth checking a bag for it. Clase Azul (the WA tequila) is amazing tequila. Even the tiny complementary 200ml bottle would cost $65 at Total Wine in the US!
