A few weeks ago, our CMB-CGK flight was cancelled on a AUH-CMB-CGK route, a few days before travel. We emailed the AUH office to ask them to re-route us AUH-DOH-CGK. They said there weren't enough seats left for us on the DOH-CGK leg, and instead offered AUH-CGK direct on Etihad. Meant an ORC claim to BA for the tier points, but was a flat bed the whole way and no changing planes in the middle of the night, so we were very happy with that!
