I've checked my original reservation email and indeed the rate conditions state it is non-commissionable to travel agents so mystery solved. I've not had problems getting these bonus points credited but it's clearly a manual process by the hotel after the stay. So, ultimately, it comes down to whether I prefer ~1000 Avios from the BA Shop or 4000 Bonvoy points for my two-night stays. All other hotels I've checked out in the region charge more for this 2K Everyday rate which basically means you're paying for the "bonus" Bonvoy points and precluding any additional Avios so clearly not worth it. I'm reminded of the 3-nights-for-2 Mastercard rates widely promoted by SPG in the olden days that were more expensive than the lowest available rate for 3 nights. No matter, I think I prefer to get the 4000 Bonvoy points than 1000 Avios for these stays but I'll remember not to bother booking through the BA Shop if I make such a reservation in the future.
