Conrad is nice but a bit out of the way and the subway line nearby isnt a very useful line.
Stayed one night as a Diamond member October 2023. No early check-in despite availability. App upgrade to an executive room on the highest floor changed upon arrival. Still received the upgrade but on a lower floor. Compensated with an additional complimentary guest for afternoon tea. Preferred Intercontinental Singapore @ Bugis for prime location and more hospitable staff YMMV. Slow taxi /car service in the am (waiting 20 minutes for arrival on an early Monday morning).
Pros:
No need for a transformer/int'l adapter
Seems short stays merit base room to executive room upgrade whether paid or reward YMMV
Right across the street from a shopping mall w/ restaurants and a moderately sized Japanese grocery
Welcome amenities - Conrad cookies and sparkling water
Very affordable spa (compared to Tokyo) as Diamonds get 20% off
Cons:
Friendly staff (some more attentive than others) except for one housekeeping individual who insisted that I call down for extra towels despite attending to rooms on the same floor (first time this has happened during all of my hotel travels and in Asia no less)
No collectible CONRAD bears since July 2023 as a result of management's decision
Not within walking distance to mom and pop/local shops/hawkers
Overall, minor hiccups but good stay as they recognized and acknowledged status
