All worked out in the end. The Swiss flight LHR-ZRH was more or less on time but the onward ZRH-ATH was delayed 90 mins which meant we got into ATH at nearly 2am and got to the hotel in central ATH at 4am, not really ideal but it was what it was.

The return flights were meant to be ATH-FRA-LHR but we were there early to check in and the check-in agent asked if we wanted to be moved onto the direct ATH-LHR on Aegean without saying why, thought about it for a few moments then agreed and the fact that we got to do the extended wait in the Aegean Lounge was a bonus. Got to the lounge and received a text from LH telling me that my FRA-LHR flight had been cancelled so I guess that's why we were asked if we wanted to move flights!

The flight in business on Aegean was really very good although the boarding was chaotic with sequence instructions being ignored by many, food and service were excellent. I guess I won't be getting my M&M miles for that flight though.
