Would like to get some suggestion on how i can surprise my friend with a last minute upgrade. I've checked online via Qatar website but the leg with qsuite does not have availability anymore. However, expertflyer still shows me they have plenty of seats in biz blocked with no assignment. Separately check with CS but they told me that they can't upgrade partially (just 1 leg of the flight).

Any chance to upgrade with my avios at DOH airport? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated here. Not sure if it matters, I have gold PC and he just started with Burg (going to be silver after this flight).
