You need to clear immigration at FRA (you are entering Schengen). Usually this is not time consuming. Customs will take place at final destination (LUX) if you have checked luggage.
Although this transfer is tight it is not impossible. Just follow the signs; no need to ask for assistance (they will not be able to help you except pointing in the right direction). If you miss the flight to LUX you will get rebooked to the next flight or you take the train (FRA-LUX is really short distance); not the end of the world! (assuming you are traveling on 1 single ticket).
Yes, 2 one way tix to LUX. We will not check any luggage. These are not paired flights, so collecting luggage and re-checking it before second flight would not be possible. Next flight like it is 10 hours later - unless I’m missing something, and train to Luxembourg or Metz (final destination) is convoluted. The rest of our circuit takes us to Strasbourg & Heidelberg before getting back to Frankfurt area, and train will be fine for those legs. Returning home on the RT we arrive on. Packing light is do-able. I’ll buy stuff if I need to. We spent 15 days out of a carry-on last time. Found a coin laundry mid-trip. But that one hour, two terminals in an airport I’ve never been to has me panicky. Wish us luck. 🍀 Thanks for your reassurance!
