As I recall it's a Nespresso type device built into the frame, using unbranded capsules (and of course only a limited number loaded). It's somewhat slow and ties down staff for quite a while for every cup served. Other airlines can manage it in Business, but I guess there is no evidence of people moving their financial footprint to move BA's approach to this.
I did wonder how they made it and considered if it was nespresso.
I have a small nespresso machine and the pod loaded to pouring is 6 secs max. I really can't see from a time perspective how much slower. and impacting, it is versus making a long coffee.
