As part of my Friday morning work avoidance technique I am planning a little trip up to my Alma Mater, Edinburgh, early December. I always enjoyed the relaxing and scenic train route home to London when I was at Uni- but First Class tix these days seem to be around £500 (!) - so I will happily use some avios instead. Ive not flown domestically for years so I'm wondering what the collective conciousness's thoughts are on LCY v LHR? I live nr Paddington so its just one Lizzy line to LHR v the Lizzy and change to DLR - so that edges LHR - but is LCY still so much quicker, easier and less stressful to get through security etc? In the old days the option to eat at least 4 of those delicious GF sausages would have made this a no-brainer, but since I am now a lowly Silver, the sausage imperative is no more. Please help me on this almost entirely unimportant quandary so I can while away a few more minutes on BA's magnificent website? Thank you in advance!
