If logged in, I actually agree with the airline. We agree to certain terms when we create an account. They have every right to enforce their rules on accounts.
Some of the scraping tools have/had users provide their credentials -- and then they ran the queries from user owned devices to avoid detection. It's suspected (see above) that EF used UA to run queries. UA definitely requires some sort of login to get award result data. At least I need to log into my wn account to see any of it.
