My wife and I have been getting companion pass via Chase Southwest credit cards for over a decade now, we switch off where I get CP for 2 years, then my wife, back to me etc.
We always cancel both cards just before the SECOND annual fee is due, we don't hold the card long enough to have the 2nd annual fee post therefore we are not getting the miles for the second year and then cancelling.
My wife has CP for 2023 and 2024, we just cancelled her business premier this week and will cancel her personal Plus next week.
We started in 2011 and have never had an issue with Chase.
We both have 800 plus FICOS so if person has a lower credit score they might want to do more research before cancelling.
If you do close a Chase business card I suggest moving the credit line from your SW business card to your INK and then closing the SW card, this way if you are ever denied a Chase business card they may be able to move credit from a different card to get you approved.
